A-Wok in Fairlawn

I have never in my life been more disgusted with a restaurant. Let’s start with the fact that nobody wears gloves or sanitizes anything, and then the fact that the cashier acts like you’re bothering her and has absolutely no will to serve you or help you. The place is old and it’s dirty and they’ve never made an effort to clean tables after anyone’s been there. The food is terrible, I’ve had it a few times and every time the food was soaked in grease. I’ve never felt more sick from an eating establishment and I’m honestly shocked the FDA hasn’t shut this place down. It’s extremely cheap food and comes out so fast that the freshness of it is extremely questionable. You are much better off going to House of Hunan or PF Chang’s, the prices are higher but the food is much much much better and the quality plus the service is always memorable.

Service was good. Had combo plate General Tso’s chicken, worst Chinese food I ever had!!! Chicken had a strange taste and horrible smell. Threw it away. Waste of $15.00 it sucks

We have been going to Awok for years. We love it!! They have come to know us by order and phone number. We'd eat there a few times a week, if possible. lol. I hope they stick around for many years to come.

Yes the lady at the counter is rude, but there food is legit!! She's also the only one answering the phone and when I was there to pick up my food it was non stop ringing. For a little hole in the wall, I was happy. My 3 year old loved it too and she is very picky about her food. I love Chinese food and I could not believe the food that came out of that kitchen. If I was not leaving tomorrow and heading home back to Columbus, I would try other dishes. A+!!

Best in town polite great food been a customer for over 15 yrs. Never got a bad meal. Fair prices family owned very welcoming and friendly. Thanks for the good food guys 👍👍

Best eggrolls evah

The black bean chicken is an all time favorite and we will dearly miss this friendly restaurant due to relocating.but it will be a must visit when we are back in town.Where am I ever going to find hot and sour soup that is so good? I will truly miss it.

Great family-owned restaurant. Huge selection of options with a more authentic taste than most Americanized Chinese food places. You can call ahead to have your order ready for pickup, walk in and order take out or dine in. About five or six tables with four chairs each so not a huge dining area. Definitely a popular lunch place during the week.

Awesome place! Best Chinese in all of Akron! Every portion is big and the guy working the cash register is very friendly and funny. He always hooks me up with free drinks and discounts. I have been coming here for over 10 years and will keep coming back!

This place is so dirty. The interior, as you walk in, all the way up the where you order is filthy. The brown sauce was separated into sauce and oil, with the 1/4 inch thick layer of oil coating everything I tried to eat. Will never go back.

very affordable. I live alone so 1 combo can last for 2 or 3 meals. the staff is very friendly. I make the journey out of my way from work to home for A-Wok

The young female cashier was very rude by snatching my credit card out of my hand for no reason. I will not tolerate this kind of behavior and needs to cease now.

This place has amazing Chinese food, all of these comments about the food being bad shows you have not had actual good Chinese food.Service is great, they can be upfront and short when ordering but who really cares. Food comes out quick and delicious. It’s too bad there are a lot of cry baby’s leaving reviews.I live in Colorado now and the first 2 places I’m getting food from when I get back is A-Wok and Swensons.

Been a while since I have been here but the Sesame Chicken and crab rangoon was just as good as I remember.

Rude wait staff taking my order. Halfway thru my order she answers the phone and yells on the phone for a minute. She acted like she did not want to be there. Food normally is ok. Not sure if she got my order right. Guess I will find out.

The food is great. But the girl at the front counter was the most hateful person i ever met. I asked if i could eat inside and she says yes. I go to set down and start to take out my food this girl runs from behind the counter and grabs my stuff and puts it back in my bag and yells they are closed. Ok closed at 938pm when they close at 10. She also starts yelling in Chinese at me while i start to walk out the store. Mind you i even tipped them on top of all that. I should of got my tip back. I guess i did something to piss this chick off. Hahaha. She just lost 2 great customers not over the food but over simple respect. You dont act like a idiot to your customers

Fast service and great food. Prices are solid too. If you're into really spicy food, ask for the extra spicy sauce on the side or you'll be a little disappointed with the standard kick. Also don't walk out without grabbing utensils if you need them.

This place is disgusting, I’ll be honest the food was great. But as I stood there watching them prepare it, NONE OF THE EMPLOYEES WORE GLOVES. the girl went from handling dirty money straight to handling food with bare hands. If I hadn’t of already paid I would’ve left. She was rude and I wouldn’t go again. So unsanitary!

I used to come here a lot after my learning RX sessions a few years back. The food is to die for. Probably the best Chinese I've ever had! It sucks that it's nearly 50 minutes away from were I live. However the dining area is pretty dirty. There is always dust on the floor and the salt and soy sauce containers are dirty. So if you go here I recommend you get it to go. The staff is very nice 9/10 for me!

The best Chinese food in the area! Fairly priced and the containers are filled to the top. I only get takeout because it doesn’t have the cleanest dining area. But it has been my favorite restaurant for years and everything on the menu is excellent! I recommend it to everyone I know.

Staff seemed bothered by us dining there. There was a hair in my food and I am pretty sure they gave me the same food on a new plate once the removed the hair that was about 8 inches long. So I won't return.

The service there was great this time I was very surprised to see that the whole facility is being run by the younger generation the young girl who usually works at the front counter it's interesting she was having an argument with somebody in the back running the stove but it out these guys always get my order correct and always give me a little bit more than what I asked for kudos!

Best Chinese food in the area. Best crab rangoons around. This is a family owned restaurant and the whole family is involved. Sometimes the kids are taking your order and ringing you up when you arrive. They remember you and always thank you. This is the way business should be done. Thank you

Good food and good service

It may sound strange but this small take out Chinese restaurant, with a few tables, is our favorite Chinese restaurant in Akron. Hot and sour soup and Hunan chicken are our favorite dishes... Lunch specials which change daily are a inexpensive and allow you to sample the items on the menu. There's a lot of yelling in Chinese as the cooks prepare the food in front of you. Restaurant is owned by a Chinese couple. If their son Juan is there talk to him about cars .....that's his spesialty .......fresh fresh and good good food at bargain prices.
